How to use LeafSnap

LeafSnap has a plant journal that can help you monitor and keep track of all the plants that you are growing in your own backyard.

User Guide -How to use LeafSnap App:

  • 1. Open the app and tap to Identify
  • 2. Tap the "Take photo" button if you want to capture a plant or the "Upload photo" button to choose from your gallery.
  • 3. Make sure you have a clear shot of plants with the proper angle and distance. See the Tips on taking pictures: https://leafsnap.app/instruction/
  • 4. Choose the part that fits your image. If you take the whole plant, you can choose a leaf or flower.
  • 5. You may see the ad. Please tap the close button to see the result.
  • 6. We sort the results in order of accuracy, the first one being the most correct. You can use advanced detection for more accurate results.
  • 7. Tap the result you can get basic information about this plant. Then, you can tap to "Read more" button to get detailed care and the characteristics of this plant.
  • 8. Tap the "Add to collection" button to add this plant to your collection, which shows in the My Plant tab.
